Referees
Volleyball Hawke’s Bay offers training and opportunities for people interested in refereeing the game of volleyball. People can commence training as a referee by attending a Rules Clinic. Here they will receive resources and information sufficient to commence a programme to become a VNZ recognised qualified referee. The entry level for this is a Regional A Referee. Referees can then develop to National and International level depending on the level they aspire towards.
Volleyball Hawke’s Bay appoints a regional referees coordinator who regularly runs introductory courses to commence referees towards becoming qualified.
There are also opportunities for referees to earn a small income practising their referee skills. Many of the volleyball leagues provide referees and this provides a regular income for many of our high school aged referees. Contact us if you would be interested in finding out more about becoming a paid referee.
