Hawke’s Bay coordinates all secondary school volleyball activities
in Hawke’s Bay. Currently secondary school based volleyball
activities are played in term one and term four each year. On Wednesdays
each term interschool leagues are played catering for all levels and
abilities. These games are largely played at the Pettigrew-Green Arena
with extra social games played in school gymnasiums.
With New Zealand senior secondary school Nationals held at the end of term one each year there are two additional Volleyball Hawke’s Bay hosted tournaments for senior high school players in term one.
Juniors compete at North Island Junior Secondary school Championships in term four so the two weekend tournaments hosted by Volleyball Hawke’s Bay in term four are for year 9 and 10 students only.
