Our Hawke’s Bay Senior Competition is a 7-8 week weekly volleyball competition, running from Tuesday 10 February for Division 1 only, with other divisions starting 17th February through to 31 March 2026, and is open to all secondary schools across the region. While it is primarily a senior competition, junior teams are also welcome to enter the Term 1 competition, if there is availability. Games are played on Tuesday evenings at Rodney Green Arenas, Gloucester Street, Taradale (Napier) from 4.00pm–9.00pm. The competition caters for all levels, from competitive to social teams, with finals held in the final week of the competition.
Volleyball Hawke's Bay also hold a Senior Open/Seeding Combined Tournament later on in Term 1, preparing the teams for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship which is held during Summer Tournament Week and is held in Palmerston North.
The Junior Open/Seeding Combined Tournament is held in Term 4, also in preparation for the North Island Junior Secondary Schools Volleyball Championship. These are hosted in a different location every year.
